When Pet Photography means the most
The bond between a loving owner and their pet is so strong, and Pet Photography offers a lasting way to keep them close to you. It was so bittersweet to see the love between Allie, an Airedale Terrier, and her “mom”. Allie, in failing health, was so sweet and cooperative. It meant so much to her owner to have a lasting portrait of Allie, her companion for only four short years. A mix of tears and laughs were sprinkled throughout the shoot as we tried to capture Allie’s personality. A combination of indoor portraits and outdoor helped to tell the story. When we went outside, Allie loved laying in the snow! Airedale Terriers apparently love the snow.
For Pet Photography it’s best to bring squeaky toys, treats, their favorite toy and their own water bowl. This helps the pet feel more comfortable. I always allow plenty of time for the pet to check out their new environment before starting to shoot. I’m not asked too often to do just Pet Photography, but this experience will be in my heart for quite some time.
